  • Before making any movements, please contact Boulogne Port (VHF12 – Tel: +33(0)3.21.80.34.67). Day or night, boats must respect the port signalling (port entry or exit navigation lights), given the traffic, they must not interfere with vessels for which the lights are on.

Safety advice

On entering the harbour

  • Enter the harbour at a maximum speed of 5 knots
  • Do not swim or practise water sports in the basin
  • No fishing
  • Dispose of your used oil and batteries in the containers provided for this purpose
  • Do not throw your rubbish in the sea (bottles, plastic bags…)
  • Remember to close the water taps after use
  • Don’t light fires on the quays

At sea

Before heading off, check:
  • The weather
  • Floats and/or lifejackets which must be quickly accessible
  • The safety equipment in your boat
  • The fuel level depending on your journey and consumption
  • Your itinerary and planned navigation programme, and inform your loved ones
  • Engine maintenance
  • The condition of your electrical and other installations
  • The condition of your fire extinguishers and flares and their expiry dates – read the instructions
  • The condition of your navigation equipment (sail, helm…)
  • Your boat’s load
  • Engine compartment ventilation
